1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
1/4 cup (50g) white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup (120g) chocolate chips
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until creamy.
Add egg and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
Step 2: Add Dry Ingredients
Sift in flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until just combined (don’t over-mix).
Fold in chocolate chips using a spatula.
Step 3: Shape & Bake
Scoop small portions of dough (about 1 tablespoon each) and place them on the baking tray, leaving space between each cookie.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown.
Let them cool for 5 minutes on the tray before transferring to a wire rack.
Tips for Perfect Cookies:
✔ For chewy cookies, remove them from the oven while the center is still slightly soft.
✔ For crispier cookies, bake for an extra 2-3 minutes.
✔ Add nuts like walnuts or almonds for extra crunch.
✔ Use cold butter for thicker cookies and melted butter for thinner, chewy ones.
